Soldering a chain end cap onto a delicate gold ball chain can feel a little nerve-wracking — you definitely don’t want to fuse those links and lose the movement! ✨
One quick trick I’ve been loving is packing the chain into a bit of reusable soldering clay. It keeps the links protected and out of the heat while I go in fast with the torch to secure the end cap.
Of course, this isn’t the only way to do it — and that’s what makes this community so awesome. There are always multiple approaches, and we learn the most when we share!
Got a setup you swear by? A trick that works for you?
