Here is another technique for opening a bezel and keeping your stone intact from @_jmkjewelry_ - “This is a ring someone bought this weekend but they needed it resized. The stone is why she bought it so I had to try to get it free with no damage. My go to tool for the job is an ingrown toenail tool. Being that I’m also a hairdresser and have lots of tools for the trade l, including manicuring tools you will always find some unusual but very useful things on my bench. This tool is great because it has a gentle curve that will cup itself around the curve of most stones. It’s thin and strong with a nice grippy handle and as you can see it will pry away thinner bezels like butter. You just give it a little wiggle between the bezel and the stone. There are a few different tools for ingrown nails so be sure to get one that has this style of tool on it.” Thank you so much for sharing with us! I’ll be sure to share the product link in my stories for those that are interested! #jewelrytipoftheday #makingjewelry #jewelryrepairs #metalsmith #ladysmith #metalsmithsociety
