Here is a tip for sanding the bottom of castings from @buena_onda_gw - “I just started using Jettset to get the bottom of my succulent castings filed flush and it works so dang well! Prepare Jettset the same way as instructed (heat until clear and malleable, fix into a tool like a vice or benchpin, squish your piece into the Jettset and let dry to white). Using the castings with this let’s me get them into a perfect position to file the bottoms. Before, it was all death grip filing onto sandpaper, which was hard to get flush without removing too much metal. Plus sometimes my grip would move the petals and would then obstruct the filing process. Now it is so pain free, using a separating disc with my Foredom flexshaft it takes seconds. You can absolutely use a flat file too, it just takes a bit more time.” Love this and I’m sure it could be used for other small pieces besides organic castings!! Thank you for sharing with us! Always love seeing how people put their Jettset to work! 🙌 #metalsmithsociety #makingjewelry #jewelrymakingtipoftheday
