#tooltalktuesday I wanted to show a fantastic tool that makes your
@grstools Benchmate System even more versatile, the Slide & Lock Tru-Axis available from
@ottofrei1930 what this fixture does is allows you to quickly adjust the height of whatever you are working on: your bench pin, the Multi Purpose Vise, your Benchmate, Ball Vise on a shelf etc. This product was specifically designed for those using microscopes, instead of having to readjust my microscope height I can bring my work higher or lower which is a huge time saver. It was designed to not hit your microscope lens or stand and gives me 4” of travel. If you are not a microscope user you can also look into the Slide & Lock Original (which goes to 8”) and the Mini (5”) because there is a huge benefit in terms of ergonomic comfort, when you are able to adjust your work. I don’t currently have an adjustable chair so I know I can always adjust my bench pin now using the Slide & Lock to the perfect height for sawing and then adjust again when I’m stonesetting. I was not aware of this product and while some people may still generally have a Benchmate System on their wish list, I think it’s awesome to showcase some of the options and accessories that make the whole system even more cool!
