Love this filing tip from @bd_mastermind -
βFor fine tuning small pierced or carved areas with a file, clamp a bench pin in your gravers block and drill a tiny hole for the file to pass through. the smaller the hole, the more 'square' (perfectly perpendicar) the file will need to be to your workpiece (which can help maintain 90 degree angle sidewalls, if desired). this tip doesn't necessarily require expensive tools but since i have them i will use them. however if you are without a scope, envy not; as this idea can also be applied to using a pair of optivisors or a mounted magnifying glass above your bench pin. just because you don't have the latest and greatest tools doesn't mean you can't be creative on getting more out of the ones you do have. cheers to a productive weekend.β Thank you SO much for letting me share this!
