Here is a work holding tip from @hendersonstudiosjewelry - “Use hot glue on a metal plate, peg vise, or engraving ball to hold your work temporarily for stone setting. First use just enough hot glue to secure your setting without completely swallowing it. Second, check the fit of your stone and bezel height. Then set your stone using both hands! This makes it so much easier especially for hammer setting. When your stone is set, use some rubbing alcohol on a paint brush to sneak in a bit of liquid in between the glue and your jewelry. Gently pry your piece out of the glue. You may need to add more alcohol as you work it free. No heat is needed to loosen your piece. And voila! This has been a game changer for me!” Love this idea! Thank you so much for taking the time to share! And a side note (speaking from personal experience 🤦♀️) avoid contact of the alcohol on your stones is a good practice because softer porous stones need to be protected! 👍 #stonesetting #bezelsetting #makingjewelry #pinvise #settingstones
