If you use a burnishing compound in your tumbler, this tip is a game changer! Take an empty gallon jug and fill with water then add 2.5-3oz (or a shot glass worth if you have one) of your burnishing compound (I use Sunsheen) now every time you use your tumbler you have your mix ready with the perfect ratio of water and compound. This will prevent waste and save you money!! Using too much compound can cause rubber tumblers to deposit a black film onto your work as well (although this can also just happen when the barrels get worn out.) Shout outs to Thomas who works on the technical team at @Riogrande for sharing this idea with me. This image is from last night where I did this for the first time. Should have done this a long time ago. I used to “measure” by adding a “splash” 🤦🏼♀️ shout outs to all of YOU for helping me become a little bit wiser everyday! 💕 #metalsmithsociety #jewelrytools #jewelrytumbler #jewelrytipoftheday
