Here is a tip for those using charcoal blocks in their soldering stations from @rustysjewellery - “Always wrap your charcoal block with binding wire before use. Charcoal can be prone to cracking and making a royal mess so keeping it wrapped tightly prevents any chunks falling of with use and will prolong the life of your charcoal block. I’ve used 1mm thick binding wire but 1.2/1.5mm would probably work better! Charcoal is also awesome as it reflects heat nicely and can speed up soldering or annealing time.” Thank you so much for sharing this! I love soldering on my charcoal block!
