This weeks #tooltalktuesday also has a bonus tip from @gildedpoppyco -“I just bought a @pepetools_usa jump ring maker from @benchtooljunkies flash sale so I’ve been experimenting with different shaped mandrels. I picked up some square steel rods at Home Depot and cut them to about 4 inches, gave them a bit of a polish and voila, square mandrels. Taped two double point knitting needles together for an oval mandrel and tried using an Alan wrench as a hexagon mandrel. The hexagons didn’t work well but this was my first try. Annealing is important.” This tool is an amazing time saver and I absolutely love the idea of using all types of different shaped rods to experiment with chain links.
