For this #tooltalktuesday Iโm showing two amazing sanding stick UPGRADES from @riogrande (and a little bonus tip involving orthodontic rubber bands ๐)- the first product is the Square Holder for Sanding Paper or Polishing Cloth (Item # 337461). This awesome tool has a hinge that you open to quickly insert sandpaper and then - BOOM - you are ready to sand! It's perfect for sanding inside a corner or on a flat edge. It keeps the sandpaper edge nice and crisp, which I love. After I received one from @riogrande and used it I went ahead and ordered two more because while you can switch out your sandpaper quickly, I wanted to keep a few around with different grits! The other item is the Round Holder for Sanding Paper or Polishing Cloth (Item # 337460). This does the exact same thing, but is round so it's perfect if you want to sand the inside of a ring or a bangle on the solder seam. When sanding itโs sometimes nice to go slow and use a tool you can easily control, especially when you are first starting out making jewelry. To use either, you simply cut a strip of sanding paper or an actual polishing cloth approximately 1-1/2"W; and any length up to 3-1/2". They are super easy to insert! Sanding sticks should be a part of every jewelers tool box regardless of whether you buy these tools or make your own. These holders are a great investment because they are inexpensive ($15.75 each), are versatile with their capacity to hold any grit sandpaper, and come in handy for jewelers who havenโt been able to invest in a ton of files! I used orthodontic rubber bands (1/4โ heavy) so I can easily tell which grit is which (this idea came from a team member @riogrande ๐) besides gems of knowledge @riogrande is also offering our community 15% off both tools with code MTLSMITH2 ๐ (Valid until 2/1/19. *This promo is not combinable with Rio's Cyber Sale November 23-26) If you give them a go please be sure to let us know what you think! #sponsored #metalsmithsociety #riojeweler #jewelrytools #benchjeweler
