Here is a tip for heat protecting while soldering delicate jump rings from @shayne.suttie.silver-

“I’m sharing this because it’s probably the cheapest and easiest ‘hack’ I’ve ever found! And works a treat too!
“When soldering finicky jump rings to a delicate piece or adding premade clasps to a chain you don’t actually need any fancy heat sinks or special pastes that cost an arm and a leg.
Wet toilet paper works…or in this case some wet paper towel. That’s it’s…just some wood pulp and water. Try it…you will thank me and your bank account will appreciate it🤣
I can’t take credit I found it on a reddit thread!”
Thank you for letting me share! wrapping in wet paper towel is a great idea! My disclaimer for any tip like this is if you are protecting a stone or other delicate components always use these tips and your torch with caution. No technique is 100% :)

#jewellerymakingtip #jewelrymakingtip #solderingtip #solderingjumprings #solderingjewelry #jewelrytorch #makingjewelry
