Here is a soldering tip from @blueberryjewelry02 - “When soldering a clasp and jump ring to the end of a chain, use an extra locking tweezer or third hand to heat sink the lobster. I clamped it toward the back of the tweezer to cover as much Of the lobster as possible. If you don’t, the steel mechanism in the lobster will not hold spring if it’s heated too much and then the lobster won’t work.” Thank you so much for sharing this! I know when I first started making jewelry I learned this the hard way and definitely had some clasps that lost their spring. If you have a different way that you heat protect your clasps share with us! I love sharing different methods for doing the same thing :) Email me at corkie@metalsmithsociety.com with pics and a caption describing your method #metalsmithsocietyshare #solderingjewelry #heatprotect #solderingjumprings #solderingtip
