Here is a bezel setting tip from @susanfauman - “I love using my graver’s ball from GRS to hold a piece when I’m setting stones. When I need to set a stone in a ring with a simple, symmetrical shank, I basically use the graver’s ball like a vice. To protect my ring shank I fold some cardboard (a piece of leather also works—maybe even better because it gives a little grip) around it. I also leave a bit of cardboard to fold down at the top under the top of the ring to protect it while I’m hammer setting the stone. I use a small chasing hammer and a strip of brass with a shaped and polished end to hammer set because the brass is soft enough to lessen the risk of damage to my stones.” Some seriously awesome tips here Susan, thank you!! The cardboard is a fabulous idea! We love to share set ups for stonesetting! If you have one you want to share, please email me!
