For this week’s #tooltalktuesday I wanted to talk about my custom stamps from @buckeyeengraving they created my original CBJ maker’s mark for my jewelry business @corkieboltonjewelry and the quality is fantastic. I ordered it 4mm wide and it’s perfect for subtly marking my work. Everything they do is custom made, so the size you choose depends on personal preference, detail level of your logo, how it is being applied, and whether it is being hand stamped or used in a press. Their sizes are created in thousandth of an inch (.001") so they can adjust size accordingly until it is just right for your particular application. I also had them create a larger ”CBJ” and my full name “CORKIE BOLTON”. I find it is really nice to have different sizes on hand so I can choose the best option for each of my pieces. Buckeye is based in Ohio and they do it all in house with steel made in the USA. So I love that you are supporting a small business when you order from them! If you want to create a stamp the ordering process is super easy, just shoot them an email with artwork (or a description) and an idea of the size you want and they will send you a quote (the more detailed your info is the quicker you can get a quote). Most jewelry stamps are within the range of $85-$200 and this depends on size and complexity. Once an order is placed the turnaround time is about two weeks! I genuinely love both of my stamps and would use Buckeye again, they take great pride in their work and have great customer service. My new stamps were a PR gift from them, but all my opinions are my own (and very positive :) They are offering our community an indefinite 10% off when you mention Metalsmith Society when you email them for a quote, how rad is that?!?
