Here is a #diy liquid bur holder from @praxisjewelry - “I recently switched from using the stick BurLife to the Liquid version (item #117985 from @riograde) since it is much less messy and I think it works better, but I did not like having to open and close the cap all the time (hard to do when the saw is in one hand). Then I saw a simple solution to holding the liquid BurLife on a video by @bobbywhite so I thought I'd make one myself. I used two US pennies and... VERY IMPORTANT...they must be from 1982 or older since those are made of 95% copper. Anything newer is made from mostly zinc and I don't think they will solder together. Dome one penny in a dapping block. The metal is super soft so it didn't take much to dome it. Next clean the pennies so they are free of tarnish. I used a Coarse Mounted Mini Fiber Wheel (Rio Item #338125) You then mark the high spot on the convex penny and I used a 2.5mm round burr (Rio Item #: 341194) to create a little space for the solder to sit. I then placed the domed penny on top of the flat penny and soldered them together. I used medium solder to get the job done and then pickled the pennies. You’re done! Fill with BurLife! I place my blade at the edge of the penny and tip the holder and let the BurLife run onto the blade. It doesn't spill over the edge do to the surface tension of the viscous liquid.” Love this!
