Here is a fantastic #diy bench pin from @alexamanoartisan - “For many of us, a bench pin/peg is the birthplace from which all designs are born! And as such, their personalities should be the most important thing in our studios! Right? There are many good ones out there, but I've always wanted to make my own and adapt it to ALL my needs: more real estate on the surface, different cutouts for small parts, and GRS Mounting plate compatible! A very good friend of mine gave me this beautiful piece of hardwood that I sawed out and converted into my new pin. I simply used a 1/0 saw blade on my favorite #Knewconcepts 5" saw frame and it was easier than I thought it would be! You can use a thicker blade, but I like having more control of my cuts (although it takes longer) I started from the tang that goes into my GRS bracket... so that I can then do all the cutouts clamping it on my bench. After I finished, I used some mineral oil to protect the wood (wiped with a cloth), but this might not be necessary. I know it is still a work in progress, as it will get more customization with each use! But this is the beginning of a long relationship!” This is a work of art Alex! Thank you so much for letting me share! Your pin is fantastic! #benchpinportrait #diybenchpin #jewelrytoolmodification
