Here is a container for storing denatured alcohol and boric acid (to prevent FIRESCALE ๐) from @knotandsplice - โHere's a photo of my container that I keep denatured/methyl alcohol and boric acid in...it's just an old plastic prescription bottle. I like this option because the top is kind of locked on (if you knock it over while working, nothing spills). I like that I can mix a small amount of each (methyl or denatured alcohol and boric acid) so that I don't have to worry if some of the alcohol evaporates...way less waste. It's rather simple, but a great way to reuse small glass or plastic jars...you just want to be sure the lid is tight-fitting for whatever jar you select, otherwise the alcohol will evaporate rather quickly. I've used this same old plastic rx bottle for years and I don't think the alcohol evaporates except when I take the lid off to use it for making jewelry. I use a paintbrush dedicated to this mixture, or I'll throw a ring in the jar, and kinda shake it a bit and then take it out with tweezers. Cheers!โ Best tip in the world to use this concoction to prevent firescale! Thanks Nicole!! #firescale #makingjewelry
