Here is a rolling mill tip from @kkmetalwerk4640 - “Experiement with rolling two different textures to get some unique finishes! I have been experimenting with new techniques with the rolling mill: under and over rolling, double rolling, consecutive rolling, different patterns on each side etc. The general rule of thumb is that natural materials work best when printing although man made material like mesh ribbons work fine as long as they do not stretch in the direction you are rolling. For complex printing using multiple components the pattern and annealed metal should be secured from movement with painters tape inside a paper ‘sandwich’ or on a paper backing. This backing protects your rollers from getting dinged. When printing with cutouts you can also use a paper backing to deepen the embossing effect.” Thank you Karla, your samples are really inspiring! Very cool to see what can be achieved with a rolling mill! #rollingmill #rollingmilltextures #rollingmilltips
