Here is a bench modification AND polishing tip from @lierreworks - “I like to add a satin texture to my clasps and tags on my chains to give them a nice finished look. But as you know, polishing a chain can be extremely dangerous. It can easily get caught by the wheel and whip around violently. Something I like to do to keep my hands and face safer is to wrap my chain around my bench pin and then hold it nice and taut. I can then carefully use a medium grit radial wheel to add my satin texture. If it catches on the wheel, (it happened), the chain will break instead of whipping around dangerously and hurting you. I also like to file a perpendicular groove across by bench pin for holding tube while I cut it. This groove works nicely for keeping the wrapped chain from sliding around. Hope that helps someone! ❤️ Lierre” Thank you Lierre, it is an important safety tip to ALWAYS wear safety glasses 😎 when using your flex shaft and when you are polishing a chain never hold it in your hand, be sure to secure it and not allow it to get caught up in a flex shaft. 🚨Injuries can occur when that happens and we want you all to be safe.
