Here is a modified bur from @marquisjewelryacademy - “Modified Bur for Bezels: When we're working with castings and fabricated heavy bezels (1mm +/-) sometimes the fit isn't quite right when it's time to set. One of my favorite tool mods takes a 6mm setting and I grind away the pavilion cuts. I'm using my polishing Arbe with a 6" rough grinding wheel to remove the pavillion. Then I grind a small 45* chamfer safety edge. After I buff the bottom with a finer grit to a semi-polish to keep from marring up my back plate. This tool can be used to adjust the inside wall of a bezel when it's too late to change the shape. We recently had a conversation at our school about tools that do more than one thing. You'll note in the video we're using our Arbe Polisher with a Grinding wheel. I purchased a cheap plastic tapered spindle adapter for the 1" hole in the grinding wheel to be able to mount it to the ARBE's tapered spindle. This does require more safety and attention, but it beats having 2 large motors in your jewelry studio.” Thank you for sharing this with us Emily! Burs like this are also helpful for cleaning up solder inside a bezel when we over do it. #modifiedtool #modifiedjewelrytool #jewelrytip #jewelrymakingtools #polishingmachine
