For this week’s #tooltalktuesday I have an item to help you get your bench organized (my favorite topic) from @ottofrei1930 their Rotating Bur And Tool Caddy (item 119.924) this wooden caddy has 288 3mm holes for storing 3/32 diameter shank burs, and 48 4.0mm size holes for keeping 1/8" shank burs. It also has two magnetic strips, a removable lid with holes to store additional tools. This caddy has provided an organized home for all my burs and it doesn’t take up too much space. It comes in this original size (10” tall) and a smaller version that measures 8” tall. For many bits like the radial bristle discs that are 3/4-1” wide I don’t use every hole but every other. This allows me to take what I need out without knocking into other bits. I like that you can also choose to remove the lid and keep hammers in it, or store smaller hand tools inside and on top. If you are using this on a separate work table like I am I definitely recommend the original size but I think if you are wanting this to be on top of your bench I’d go with the smaller size. Using this has helped me easily access burs that I previously had stored in a box and out of sight out of mind. I take out what I need for project and then I put them back at the end of the day (ideally 😉) You can purchase this awesome caddy and save 5% and each purchase also helps support Metalsmith Society with code MMSXF from Otto Frei. If you get one please follow up with a before and after shot! Would love to see how it helped you organize!!
