Here is a bench pin modification from @creativesidejewelryschool - “Depending on what you work on most, you could have a few bench pen options to choose from!
.
Here we're showing how to modify your bench pen to easily work on resizing a ring!
.
By using a "wax saw blade" you can easily saw a piece out of the center of your pen and saw a notch directly into one side (depending if you're right or left handed) to create a small divot.
.
Then take a large cylinder bur in your flex shaft and carve out a shallow space for the ring to sit (pictured for right handed jeweler)
.
Voila! You can easily get in with your saw to cut through the ring shank!
.
This topic is endless and you can get creative in so many ways! Just think of what you work on most and how your bench pen could be altered to make working easier!” thank you for letting me share!
