Here is a technique for sawing tubes/bezels from @marquisjewelryacademy - “When I need to cut down the height of a bezel or trim bits of tube I brace my tube on the corner of my bench pin and saw around concentrically, getting deeper with each pass. This way I can control the accuracy of my cut, and avoid veering off. You'll also see here I extend my forefinger along the blade. Kinesthetic feedback, or the awareness of your body lending to finer motor skills is a super important subconscious skill for jewelers. As callous as they are, our fingertips can feel the difference in 1 or 2 molecules of thickness. When that tactile response is applied to our tools, the enhanced control is astronomical. TLDR: more contact with your tools makes you do better.” Thank you for sharing this technique with us Emily. Also take note how she is rotating and only sawing in one direction, this makes it safe to position her fingers this way. Do not hold tubing and saw bath and forth with your fingers in the way, you can get a cut. #sawing #sawingtips #sawingtechniques #sawingjewelry
