For this week’s #tooltalktuesday I’m promoting the awesome online classes of @lucywalkerjewellery and she is sharing a tip with all of us - “Bezel setting fragile stones doesn’t need to be scary but we do need to work mindfully. Here I’m setting an opal doublet with a home-made brass bezel rocker. I prefer my home made burnisher for riskier jobs, as the tool is small I can easily see what I’m working on without it blocking my view. Also because of it’s size I can easily get enough pressure on the bezel to push it down and over the stone, something that’s much harder to do with larger setting tools because the force applied is spread out over a larger area.” Thank you Lucy for sharing the 1 minute version of creating this tool! I’m sure many of you know, Lucy has an online Metalsmith Academy and enrollment is open now through 8/19 Her courses are perfect for beginners AND those looking for more advanced stuff. Now is the perfect time to learn some new skills to apply to your holiday collections!! The first 250 annual memberships to sign up are going to get a free swag bag :) My advice is when you sign up, block out some time every week on your calendar and dedicate yourself to a course! If you sign up through my link in my profile Lucy will give a little something back to Metalsmith Society! Thanks Lucy! #affiliate #onlinejewelrycourse #handmadejewelrytool #bezelpusher #settingopals
