For this week’s #tooltalktuesday I have a solution to help prevent your tools from rusting in your studio, but first a back story…I installed an Airthings Radon & Air Quality Monitor in my studio because my studio is attached to my home and we had high radon levels. This air quality measurer made me recognize two things, the first is that my CO2 levels get very high when I’m in my studio working and I don’t open a window to let in fresh air. The second, my studio was very very humid. Now part of that is the time of year here in Rhode Island, but I noticed a bunch of my tools were rusting and nobody has time for that. So while this post is not glamorous lol I do think it’s helpful because with all the tools we invest in the last thing you want is to have all of your tools rust. So look into getting a dehumidifier! This one I got is a 50 pint that I have draining directly into my sink. Otherwise I’m emptying the water tank on a daily basis for my roughly 14’ x 10’ space. It brought my humidity from 85% down to 45-50%. I really hope this helps others in the community who live in humid climates.
