Here is a chain storage tip from @dangbravegirl - “My tip is for storing chain. It's pretty simple and uses what you may already have on hand....a storage tote/bin and some bamboo or dowel scraps.
If at all possible I buy chain in bulk (50ft) and it comes on a spool. I use a sharpie and write the part/reorder number, size/style and cost on the end of spool. My storage bins came in a 4pk from Costco and are approximately 14x14x3.... perfect depth for the spools. Cut your bamboo or dowel to fit inside, add spools (I got 5 on mine) and you can easily measure out chain without taking them out of bin. Add some measurements with sharpie to the edge of bin and you've got a instant built-in ruler. I secure my chain ends with reusable painters tape to keep them from unraveling. I also reuse old cardboard jewelry boxes for fixed length chain that I buy. It keeps them organized and in the same space with rest of chain.” Thank you so much Jaime! I love the idea of modifying cabin you have on hand!
