Here is a tip for a too tight bezel from @jewelryinstructor - “It’s happened to all of us: the bezel winds up just a little too tight for the stone. Wait - don’t scrap it! Here’s a simple tip to make it a bit larger! Use a pair of half round pliers - rounded jaw on one side and flat jaw on the other - to gently squeeze the bezel in one place. (Make sure the round jaw goes *inside* the bezel to minimize visible marks.) Then, because the plier opening tapers, flip the bezel and gently squeeze in the same spot on the other side to keep things even. Do this in several places around the bezel if necessary, but remember to check the fit after every squeeze - a little goes a long way, and once the bezel is too big the only option is to cut it apart to make it smaller!” Thank you for sharing this with us Francesca! We appreciate it so much!!
.
.
.
.
#jewelryinstructor
#benchtips
#bezeltips
#jewelryfabrication
#learntomakejewelry
#jewelrymaker
#metalsmithsociety
#madebyhand
#learnsomethingnew
#dothework
#pushyourself
