Here are some tips to protect your fingers from @elisabethspace - “My Tory finger guards I've used over 4yrs. They don't fit thumbs well, so I make those from Coban tape from any pharmacy, as it has better cushion than green alligator tape, but is still flexible and thin. Whenever I put direct force onto something with my fingers (think wrapping wire around a mandrel, holding a small tool tightly with pressure for control, gripping the edge of a piece of metal) I wear these to prevent callouses & pain. The rubber material is good for a nice solid grip. Great for shielding skin from heat whenever I'm using my favorite 3M sanding discs during cleanup. There are lots of size options, but I've only used the 11 1/2, as it seems to fit both my index and middle fingers well.” Thank you so much for sharing this with us! It is so important to protect our hands, Elisabeth was kind enough to share a link to her finger guards so I’ve added them to my “Studio Safety” list on the Metalsmith Society Amazon page. Shop local whenever you can but I have linked some small businesses that sell on Amazon for as many as the products listed as possible! #studiosafety #fingerprotectors #fingerguards
