Here is a tip for adding a wire to the edge of a ring from @sinead_cleary_jewelry - “I start by making my band a bit long as I’ll trim it and the wires down. I also make my frame wires longer so I don’t have to fuss with lining it up perfectly or worry if the ends melt a bit. I then lay it on my soldering block, I use vermiculite blocks (personal preference in general) since they are soft enough to easily push pins into. I then use pins to secure my frame wires around my band. I place 4 pieces of solder, 2 on each end so its sitting right in the join of the wires and band. I then start heating with a large bushy flame on one side and work my way to the other. Once its evenly heated youll see your solder flow and you can "pull" your solder with the flame into any gaps.
