Here is a tip if you use hole punching pliers (which are kinda awesome) from
@loandchlo - “I fold up masking tape to make a cushion so when I punch it doesn’t make the circle dent in my metal.” Thank you for this tip! Squeezing on the metal can cause little indentations and this is great for prevention
