Which Flush Cutter should I buy?!? Shoutouts to @lindstromtools who not only make exquisite cutters but we will be partnering this year to create educational content. There is a confusing amount of Flush cutters on the market so it can be hard to know which to start with. They come in different sizes and with different edges from beveled to flush. I consider flush cutters an essential tool that every jeweler should have. They do everything from cutting jump rings, bezels, chains, and wires. I love Lindström’s RX8162 Ultra-Flush®, the cut is amazingly flush, it’s ergonomic and cuts wire up to 1.6mm. They are the middle sized pair featured in this video. If you are cutting smaller wires the RX8142 Ultra-Flush® will be a great choice cutting wire up to 1mm thick. Lindstrom has 3 type of cuts: Micro-Bevel, Flush and Ultra-Flush®. If you already have some flush cutters but want to be able to cut thicker wires add the Heavy Duty Cutters to your wishlist TRx8180, I was able to cut 3.2mm thick (8 gauge) silver and that is the thickest I had on hand to try. The cut isn’t flush but it saves me time sawing and then I use a belt sander to quickly grind the ends flat. Remember that these cutters are all meant for softer metals: gold, silver, copper and brass (copper and brass are slightly harder than gold and silver.) When investing in any of these high quality cutters you want to make sure you never cut your binding wire with them or anything else that will mess up the jaws. I’d use economy flush cutters for that. You can find all of these pliers at JewelryTools.com Hope everyone finds this helpful! #sponsored #tooltalktuesday #lindström
