Here are some bezel setting tips from @spiritmountainsilver - “During the stone setting process a lot can go wrong… especially with a square cut stone. The corners tend to be very fragile and one wrong slip or too much pressure and welp, you’ve got a cracked or chipped stone.
First off, when setting a stone, I like to tightly secure my piece in an engravers block. The one I have is an inexpensive knock-off I got on Etsy and honestly it works great! I think I paid around $200ish for it. The edges of the engraver block can be sharp and can mar your piece. What I like to do is place a sunshine polishing cloth over the edges to protect my piece from those sharp edges of the engravers block during the stone setting process.
Setting a square bezel can tricky because the bezel can bunch up if it is too big for the stone or the corners aren’t set first.
When setting a stone with sharp corners, I always start with the edges first and gently press the bezel into the corner of the stone using my bezel pusher.” Thank you so much for letting me share Leah! Very satisfying to watch ☺️ #bezels #bezelsetting #ballvise #makingjewelry #jewelrytips
