@metalsmithsociety a while back, but it is such a great one, I had to share. Running my tumbler water through a coffee filter catches particles of silver and gold. It literally prevents me from pouring money down the drain. Before I started doing this I honestly had no idea how much gold and silver the coffee filter would be collecting! Once the filter gets gunked up I throw it in a bag that I send to my precious metals refiner, along with dust from my buffing machine, floor sweeps, and dirty rags I I use around the studio.
