I prefer the flat surface anyway. Added fiber pad to one side - Reduces vibration and a little noise, levels pin with dovetail clamp which helps cutting sheet, reduces scratches on sheet metal. The only downside is that the fiber catches on sharp shapes. But so far that’s helped with holding small pieces.
