Here is a #diytool from @makeitwithkim -
“Did you know you can easily create your own texture hammers? ⚒
You can take a cheap as chips hammer and use files to carve into the surface, but I like to use a cutting wheel on my dremel.
I use the reinforced fibreglass style cutting wheels (the big ones) rather than the standard small disks which are brittle and break very easily.
Either way, eye protection is a must and a face shield is a good idea 👍
You can use these to carve a pattern into your hammers face. Then sand the surface until you have a nice smooth finish.
You can even polish the surface up with any metal polish or compound afterwards to make it really shiny, so it leave a lovely finish on the metal you choose to textre with it.
You can also use diamond burrs to carve smaller shapes and dimples into your hammer.
I did this example really quickly but you can plan your texture out by drawing your design onto your hammer with a sharpie.
Swipe to see the finished hammer and the marks it makes. They remind me of bird footprints 🐦
Hope this sparks some ideas!” Thank you Kim! Love this idea and it could be used in so many different ways! #diyhammer #textures #texturedmetal
