Here is a drill bit organizing tip from @kayseurat - “Before: I’m always in a hurry to get to the next step...to finish a piece...to start a new one. I used to have the bad habit of tossing my (unidentified) drill bits in a dish when I switched them out. When the dish was overflowing with mystery drill bits I had to come up with a better plan.

Now: coloring coding is the answer. A chart, a little nail polish and an embroidery thread box are all I needed to redeem my bad habit.
I will always know that a magenta drill bit is a size #51 and fits 14 gauge wire.
