Here is a tip to differentiate your needle files from @garry_brisdion - “I was used to get annoyed at picking up the wrong grade of needle file whilst working at my bench until I hit upon this idea. I use different colours of electrical heat shrink tube to represent different grades of file, in my case red for course (0), yellow for medium (2) and green for fine (4). I rarely use any other grade so these three colours work fine for me although many other colours are available. It’s very easy to apply. Simply cut off a short length of the tubing, slide onto the file handle and very gently heat over a soft flame or even use a hairdryer to shrink it tight on the handle. It doesn’t get in the way at all and certainly helps to easily identify the grade of file.
Hope this tip is useful and helps out!” Thank you Garry this is a great tip and can work on bits and burs as well 👏 #jewelrytools #jewelryfiles #jewelrymakingtip
