Here is a fabulous wax carving tip from @anthemsweet_jewelry - “I’ve discovered that supporting a delicate wax carving by adhering it to paper with rubber cement stops me from holding onto it in ways that break it.
In the USA, what is called rubber cement is a light adhesive that holds both wax and paper, and it also can be peeled off both substances easily. I don’t like the probably toxic smell, and I always let the paper and wax air out by an open window before I start carving.
In other countries, I believe that what I know as “rubber cement” is sold under other names.” Thank you SO much Melissa!! Melissa emailed me this video over at tips@metalsmithsociety.com and we so appreciate her taking the time! Great tip for carving! #waxcarving #lostwaxcasting #jewelrymakingprocess
