@reinsteinross we don’t cast our jewelry. We alloy our golds in house and then mill and draw it down to the sizes and shapes of sheet and wire we need to fabricate whatever it is we are making. I am constantly using one of these to check the thickness of my metal as I mill it down or draw it out. This tool (a pearl dial gauge, or a pearl and stone gauge) lets me check the thicknesses of sheet, wire, stones, drill bits, burrs, and whatever else quickly and easily. Also, unlike my digital calipers ,it easily fits into a pocket of my studio apron!” Who had used one of these? Let us know in the comments!
