Here is another use for alligator tape while setting bezels from @flameandstone - “Ok so the alligator tape trick is nice because it protects both the metal and the stone. It also provides a bit of slip resistance. I had leather on there but it eventually wore through and I didn’t have a leather scrap lying around, but I always have alligator tape! It doesn’t hold up as long, but it’s convenient and it works! I just wound it around the rocker, you’ll have to just adjust the thickness based on your preference. Then rock away! I go around both the base and the top, using the rocker both vertically and horizontally. Gives a nice non-marred secure stone hold, then you can use a bezel pusher, burnished, whatever you use, and have minimal clean up!” Thank you SO much for taking the time to send this! I think this will be super helpful to so many people! If you have tips on stone setting send them to me! A great way to send a tip is to email me pics and a written caption!
