Here are several bezel tips from @taylorsaleem - “Bezel Hacks!
1. Stone too short? Bezel too y’all? Coil a bit of wire and place it inside the bezel before setting the stone.
2. Bezel a little too snug? Roll it on your bench block with a steel punch. This will stretch the metal and make for an easier fit.
3. Use WASHI tape to get a closer bezel fit. Wrap a piece of tape around your stone. Mark where the tape overlaps. Lay the tape along your bezel strip and snip. Make sure your ends are flush (hold it up to the light and be sure none peeks through a gap), and solder away.” Taylor is a jeweler of color and member of this community. I wanted to showcase some of her work and share a small part of her story in her words, follow her to see more of her beautiful work! “ I’ve been creating jewelry since 2010, when I was asked to either go on probation at my current job (I wasn’t very good at it) or take a severance. I took the exit and set up a studio.
2. I’m deeply inspired by flowers. They speak a language that’s hard for me to use in my own words - empathy, passion, wisdom. They’re all so different yet harmonious when joined in a bouquet.” Thank you so much for sharing what inspires you and for sharing these awesome #bezelsettingtips #bezels #washitape #tape
