Here is a tip for soldering prongs to a bezel from @sharonzjewelry - βI love the convo of bezels and prongs combined in one setting. But soldering prongs to the outside of a bezel can be tricky, especially when trying to keep even heat above and below, all while keeping the prongs straight and in place and do it all without melting the prongs. My solution is to drill holes in my compressed charcoal block. I can do this anytime I am making a customized setting, and the compressed charcoal is really forgiving. The charcoal provides radiant heat, so the whole set up heats more evenly. I can also solder everything from the bottom of the setting so I donβt accidentally melt the tops of the prongs.β This is awesome thank you so much for sharing with us! ππ #metalsmithsociety #jewelrymakingcommunity #jewelrymakingtipoftheday
