Here is a tip to find the exact tool you are looking for a bit quicker from @christineterrell - “I use the top drawer of my workbench as a repository for lots of the little tools I use most often as well as a place to rest my many hammers. -
I realized the other day that it was time to rethink the contents. In that process it occurred to me that I spend an inordinate amount of time picking up and putting down hammers til I get to the right one. -
Which made me think, “why don’t I color code them?” So I did. The colors were kind of boring by themselves so I pulled out a #sharpie -
I think it’s actually helping to not only more quickly identify which hammer I need, but also making it easier to locate them when I inevitably set them down somewhere other that the top drawer. Which I do all the time. -
(And yes, my chasing hammer handle is repaired with duct tape. Which has worked perfectly for nearly a decade now. 😜)” Thank you for sharing this with us!! They looks so snazzy too 😍 I think this is a great idea to not only clean out those top drawers but also make our most used tools easier to find! If anyone does this, snap a pic and share with me!!
