For this week’s #tooltalktuesday I wanted to talk about my @moment Macro lens and how I’ve used it in my studio and to photograph my jewelry. I also own the Wide Lens which I sometimes use as well (it’s what I have in my phone in the first few photos) but I wanted to focus on the Macro for this post! The way the lens works is you purchase a case (works with the latest Apple, Google, Samsung and OnePlus devices and they average $30-$40) then the lens screws into the case. The cases are cool looking and have managed to protect my phone after many accidental drops however if you like having your own special case, this won’t be for you. The image quality is amazing, you can get a super close up detail shot of a gemstone, a setting, a stamp or whatever other detail you want to show off. Like other phone lenses that you clip on or screw on you do have to get super close to whatever you are photographing to get your work in focus, so larger pieces are hard to capture in their entirety. So not a good option for your main jewelry picture! The lens includes a removable diffuser hood which creates even lighting, I’ve found using that prevents glare. I have an iPhone Xs, which has two lenses built in to the phone (as do some other phones) the Macro Lens mounts over either lens on dual lens phones enabling more options! The Macro is my go to if I’m showing off a tip that requires a detailed picture or if I want to show a customer a detail on a piece of jewelry or a stone. I also use this lens to photograph my garden, just sayin. I wanted to talk about this lens today because @moment is having a promo where you can save 30% off the Macro Lens with code macro30 FULL DISCLOSURE: this is not sponsored however I do have a referral code and will receive a small kickback if anyone decides to purchase the lens - use my referral link which I will link in my stories 🙏😘😘 This promo ends tonight - 11:59pm PST, on 11/19/2019 the lens is $100 so you save $30!
