Here is a tip to make your own sanding sticks using a paint stirrer from @wendypatersonjewelry - “Here are the steps- 1: Gather sandpaper and paint stir sticks. I use the following grits- 220, 320, 400, 600. 2: tape 3 sides (third photo) 3: Lay down paint stick- I line it up with the side of the sandpaper. 4: Fold tape ends around tightly. 5: Start rolling, being sure to keep it tight - a little awkward one handed but u get the idea. Lol. 6: I trim the ends to an inch or so and wrap them tightly around the stick. 7: Write the grit on the bottom of the stick, and put corresponding dots on end - makes it easy to know what you are grabbing! When the paper starts to wear down, just tear a layer off, VOILA, fresh sandpaper. I love these sanding sticks but I can't take credit. I learned to make them at the Revere Academy. Hope this helps someone!” Thank you so much for this share, thank we can never share too many sanding sticks. They are an essential tool! #diysandingstick #metalsmithsociety
