Here is a technique to clean up castings from @anthat.com.au - “We all have our own ways of cleaning up casting, there is no right or wrong way, just one that suits you best. Mine is a sequence of filing, coarse ceramic abrasive, emery disc and then emerying (grade 320, 600, 1000 and 1500). Depending on the work, if it is finer pieces (especially in platinum) I will follow with grade 2000, 2500 and then 3000 before proceeding to buffing and polishing. Remember to always emery in direction perpendicular to the previous grade, that was you could see if any coarser mark still needs to be removed.” Thank you so much for taking the time to share your technique with us 🙌 I appreciate it so much! If you want to share your technique for finishing or polishing something snap some pics or video and email me! It will be helpful to so many people ☺️if you already emailed me and I haven’t responded I promise one day I will! 😘 #metalsmithsociety #jewelrycommunity #cleaningcastings
