Here is a technique for securing a coil to saw jump rings from @nicholewestdesigns - โI use my @grstools shelf ( #004-665 ) and vise (#003-684) that is lined with padding (I purchased from grs as well #003-609 ) to tightly hold the jump ring coil. The vice being padded is key for this to work. Then I face the vice at a downward slope towards myself and saw in a straight line. When you have sawed through the metal, I gently remove my saw blade and use skinny nose piers to remove the cut jump rings. I have found that if I donโt have pliers lying around for this last step/ open the vise to release the jump rings, that they will fall into the center of the vise or on the floor.โ Thank you so much for sharing! The item numbers are for the @grstools website FYI. ๐ Would love to see other tips using their ball vises! #cuttingjumprings #metalsmithsocietyfabricationtips #metalsmithsocietytips #jewelrymakingtips
