🚨 For today’s tip I want to talk about how much money I received for this bin of studio garbage 👆at the refiner. $518.33!!! I’m serious! This 5 gallon bin is from Precious Metal Refining Services and I filled it over the course of 10 months. I emptied my vacuum into it, I placed my worn out sandpaper and sanding discs into it… I cleaned my bench top and placed the dirty paper towels in there. I also strained my magnetic tumbler fluid and rotary tumbler fluid through a strainer lined with paper towels and then let those dry out and then threw them in there as well! Basically all stuff that admittedly, I used to throw away 🤦♀️ It hurts to think how much money I’ve lost in the past, but NO MORE! I am admitting this not because I want to be publicly criticized 😂 but because I didn’t know of a place that would take this kind of “scrap” and I’m sure there are other people like me who are also unaware ❤️ Now you know ☺️ I loved working with PMRS, they made it super easy to refine with them. You call them, they send you the containers (they have a smaller bucket sized one (the blue one) and even smaller containers for ‘clean’ scraps. They burned the contents of my bin and I received 98% of my gold value and 90% of my silver. That is the craziest part, the amount of gold that was returned that was embedded in sandpaper or fell on the floor that I vacuumed up! To get a bin you call them 1-800-323-9785 thank you to @heatherguiderojewelry who told me about them and changed my life! I’d love to hear from other people, who do you refine your “dirty” stuff with, or what’s the biggest payout you got from sending in studio waste?
