Last week in my stories we discussed what you can do to help combat/prevent/minimize tarnish on silver pieces when they are sitting out on display in boutiques. Thank you to each of you who reached out, (I got over 50 messages) I appreciate you all taking the time to share your thoughts and I’m SO sorry I can’t tag you all here. 🙏🏻Each of the following suggestions were recommended by multiple people! 1️⃣ Send individual polishing cloths along with your jewelry to the boutiques that sell your work and a larger one for the boutique owner to use!
2️⃣ If you are local you can stop in and check on your work and give it a polish if needed!
3️⃣ You can work with the boutique owner to instruct on maintaining the jewelry since it’s in everyone’s best interest to keep it 👌 4️⃣ You can buff on a coating of renaissance wax! At least ten people mentioned this to me and I would never have thought to use that on silver! It will help prolong the period of time before the work will tarnish sitting out. Thank you @beadandbones for this gorgeous picture of renaissance wax, a polishing cloth and the goat hair mop brush you use to apply it. 🔥🔥🔥 let’s please continue the conversation below! 🙏🏻 #metalsmithsociety #askmetalsmithsociety #tipoftheday #jewelrytipoftheday
