Here is another tool modification AND a tip when drilling holes from @teresa.matheson - “After drilling a hole in a piece of metal, I use a drill bit a little bigger than the hole and turn it a few times to clean up the edges. Always made my fingers sore until I figured this out. I had a set of bits I didn’t use anymore as they didn’t fit my quick change handpiece. I (my husband, actually) cut a 5/16” dowel into 1” pieces, then drilled all the way through the dowel and glued in the drill bit. Now the dowel is a handle when manually making a few turns for cleanup. Much more comfortable than using a plain drill bit. I’ve been using the same set for several years, still plenty sharp.” 🤯 this is too good! Thank you so much for sharing! If you have an awesome tip you can email me (with images 🙏🏻) at corkie@metalsmithsociety.com it can take me several weeks to post things but I save everything you all send me and I’m extremely grateful! 😘 #metalsmithsociety #jewelrytipoftheday #modifiedjewelrytools #diyjewelrytools #benchjeweler #ladysmith #instasmithy<br>@unumdesign #unumfam
